The Beach

Image
I did a two-page layout of the lighthouse and my feet selfie at the beach. I was inspired by a challenge to make a layout about what makes where you live great. The best thing about where I live is that we live close to the beach. I love spending time at the beach in the summer. but don't get to do it near often enough.

Kindergarten

Here's a picture that was only taken a few days ago that I just scrapped: My daughter started Kindergarten today, eek! I love this picture of her. The little pictures were printed samples that the photographer gives when you purchase a CD, I cut them out and added them to my layout so it looked like a cork board with little pictures pinned to it. The papers and most of the embellishments come from Hot off The Press. The Pencil embellishment is Simple Stories from their Carpe Diem line.

This is the first page (see second page here) to the 2-page spread I was working on. These pictures were taken for my daughter's fourth birthday. I used another sketch for inspiration, this is from Sketches in Thyme: Here is my version: Here's pictures of the details: Here's a view of the two-page spread:

I've been meaning to scrap the pictures from my daughter's fourth birthday. I got some inspiration from the below sketch, Becky Fleck Sketch # 132: Here is my rendition: As you can see, I don't usually take sketches too literally. They're great to give you a general idea of what you want and can be interpreted in many ways. Here's some details on how I put this together. Using alphabet stickers, I used my chalk ink pad and colored the letters so they went better with the papers. I also inked the edges of my photos, the photo mats, and some of the other decorations. I also took some wooden flourishes and inked them as well. The papers are from Hot off The Press, the Bohemian Dreams Paper Pack . The base paper is also from Hot off The Press, from another kit older.
